How we source, date and correct every number

Every figure on this site traces back to a dated, named source. In order of preference:

Aggregator averages are used as a sanity check and never as the primary number. The samples behind them are thin, self-selected and allowed to go stale inside a figure presented as current, which is why they run high on rent in particular.

Where our figure differs materially from the aggregator number a reader is likely to have already seen, the page says so and explains the gap rather than quietly disagreeing.

Each page shows when it was published, when it was last updated, and when its figures were last verified. Pages tracking rules that are actively in motion also show when they are next due for review.

Verification means someone re-opened the source and confirmed the number still reads the same. It is not a re-publish of the same page with a fresher date on top — if nothing was re-checked, the verification date does not move.

Thai baht is the real figure throughout; foreign-currency amounts are conversions and are marked as approximate. The site uses one fixed anchor of roughly 33 THB to the US dollar so that figures remain comparable from page to page rather than drifting with the rate on whatever day each page was written.

Anchor conversions are not live rates. For an actual transfer, check the rate your provider is quoting at the time.

Thai financial and immigration rules change often, and reform that has been announced is not the same as reform that is law. Where a change has been proposed, frozen or is awaiting implementation, pages state the rule that is actually in force today and flag the pending one separately.

Where official policy and real-world practice diverge — a document that is theoretically accepted but routinely refused at the counter, for instance — the page reports both, because the second one is what determines whether your afternoon works out.

Where credible sources genuinely conflict and we cannot resolve it, the page says the figure is contested and shows the range instead of inventing a midpoint.

Thai hospital price transparency has eroded, and published rates are increasingly indicative rather than binding. Treat every procedure price on this site as a planning figure and get a written quote from the hospital for your own case before committing.

Some links to insurers and money-transfer services pay a commission if you buy through them, at no additional cost to you. That is the site's revenue.

It does not buy placement. Commission rates play no part in which provider a page recommends, what appears in a comparison table, or what a price says. Providers do not review pages before publication, cannot pay for inclusion or removal, and are not shown drafts.

Where a recommendation involves a provider we earn from, the page discloses it at the point of the link rather than only in the footer.

Research and drafting on this site are assisted by software, including AI tools. Nothing is published on that basis alone: every number is checked against its source by a person before it goes live, and the editor named below is accountable for what appears.

AI tools are not permitted to supply figures. Where a draft produces a number that cannot be traced to a source document, the number is removed rather than published with a hedge.

Errors get fixed on the page itself, not quietly deleted. Where a correction changes a figure a reader might have acted on, the page notes what changed and when, and the verification date is reset.
